A letter from our president!

Picture
Hello everyone!

On behalf of the 4 National Panhellenic Conference Chapters, welcome to the University of Nebraska at Omaha! Whether you are a new student or a returning student, this year will hopefully be filled with fun and exciting moments. We hope that the 2022 Formal Recruitment process will be one of the many exciting moments you’ll experience this 2022-2023 school year. Through the website you will find information regarding schedules, attire, the recruitment team and more.

My team and I are looking forward to this formal recruitment process. We are excited to help many women along their journey to find their forever home wherever it may be! The Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC) is a space where women from all backgrounds can come together to create relationships, further their academics, explore leadership opportunities and overall have fun! CPC prides itself on helping girls reach their full potential at UNO and beyond while helping around the UNO and Omaha Community whether it be in our respective chapters or as the Omaha Greeks Community.

You may be scared, nervous or unsure whether Panhellenic life is for you, and that is completely fine! We are here to help every step of the way to ensure you find your groove within the right home or council. Our chapters help empower women in their distinct ways. You’ll notice that Panhellenic/Omaha Greeks are uniquely different from other institutions and we pride ourselves on this. Panhellenic is a great way to find your footing while at UNO, to be involved and create lifelong friendships during your undergraduate career.

I’ll admit that when I signed up for recruitment in 2019, I was terrified. I was the only individual from my hometown that decided to come to UNO. I knew nothing about Greek life nor Omaha. Even though I was scared and nervous along the way I threw myself in the process and stayed true to myself. Now I am in a chapter I truly love, have made close friends, and have a support system whenever I need. Panhellenic has shaped me into the person and has provided me with the lessons and strengths to incorporate into leadership opportunities and beyond. This experience creates change in one’s life, and it’s waiting for you!

If you find yourself with any questions or concerns along the way, please do not hesitate to reach out to unocpc@unomaha.edu. We want to ensure your experience is the best it can be! If there is anything I can do to help you while attending UNO, please reach out to me alopezhernandez@unomaha.edu. Stay Groovy!
